Cape Tribulation narrowly denied Imperial Commander a fairytale return to action in the Argento chase at Cheltenham.
For much of the final circuit in the three mile one and a half furlong Grade 2 that the 2010 Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander appeared to have the upper hand only for Dennis O Regan to force Cape Tribulations head in front on the line.
It was a triumphant return to Cheltenham for the Rowland Meyrick winner who had landed the Pertempts Final at the track last March for Malcolm Jefferson before following up at Aintree the following month.
Malcolm belives the horse has earned the right to take his place in the 2013 Cheltenham Gold Cup and we wish him the best of luck.
